A Mini Garden Apartments – How To Grow Your Own Garden

The garden apartment is a very convenient space to have when living in an apartment. You can access your garden area whenever you want from the convenience of your apartment doorway without having to go up and down the stairs to get to the garden. In addition, if you are not home very often you will save on time and money by not having to bring your lawn equipment up to your apartment. However, if you want to enjoy your apartment gardening area you need to be aware of how to care for it so that it will continue to look great. It can be a bit of a challenge to keep your apartment gardening area looking fresh and new, and there are a few things that you can do to make this happen. After all, you want to enjoy your apartment gardening but you also want to make sure that it is not deteriorating.

One thing that you need to remember about apartment gardening is that watering your garden regularly is extremely important. Your soil needs water or it will dry out, and then the grass blades will turn brown. The first watering of the year should come just before spring, no later than a week before rain. Follow this up with another watering just before the first frost. Watering should be done weekly during the summer months, and then just once a month during the fall. If your garden has become too wet or too dry this season, it may be time for a complete lawn care overhaul.

One of the things that many apartment dwellers forget to think about with their mini gardens is mulch. Mulch should be added to the top of your garden’s weeds so that they do not wilt. However, it should be applied very thinly so that it does not end up drowning the plants underneath. You can use grass clippings or pieces of fruit and vegetables as mulch materials, but you need to make sure that they will not float away in the water. If you do not cover your mini garden balcony with mulch before it starts to rain, you will find that your lush garden is destroyed before it even has a chance to flower.

If you live in an area where there are seasonal weather changes, then you are going to need to mulch on a regular basis. Each time the rainfall occurs, you should put a layer of mulch on the grass. Also, be sure to thin out the layers that you have if you have a wide variety of colors in the garden. Otherwise the color of the water in the pond and the soil could wash away some of the fertilizer, causing your plants to wilt.

Your mini garden balcony is an excellent place to sit and relax. The natural wood of the balcony will add a nice touch to your home. However, you need to take special care not to get any splinters by sitting on wooden furniture.

Be careful when using a sprinkler. Do not direct the spray directly at the leaves and flowers, because they will be damaged. Instead, aim the spray towards the center of the foliage. Do not use a hose with a long handle unless you are absolutely confident that the water will not get onto any other areas of your home.

Do not allow the flowers to wilt. They are meant to be a little damp. You can put a shallow tray under the flower beds so that they do not dry out too much. But do not let the water sit for more than a few hours or else it will begin to smell.

Mini garden apartments are a great way to grow your own vegetables. If you are dedicated and patient you can see some beautiful results. If not, then you will be able to move to a bigger apartment in a few years. Just make sure that you keep your mini garden healthy so that you do not have to worry about weeds.
